Meet Dr. Eric Wechsler

Dr. Wechsler In 1998, I completed my undergraduate work in Neuroscience at the University of Florida in Gainesville. I spent over 2 years researching a neurological disease known as stereotypic movement disorder. I was honored to be selected in Phi Beta Kappa and graduated with Highest Honors.

I then went to the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida where I learned not just from the textbooks, but from the enormous inner city and indigent population prevalent in the surrounding community. I was involved in assisting many free clinics and other volunteer opportunities which ultimately led me to receive an Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society Award for the best "Doctor-Patient Relationships".

In 2002, I was accepted to the Internal Medicine training program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA where I continued my specialty in Nephrology, graduating in 2007.

The kidneys are a fascinating organ and the associated diseases are not only complex and interesting but often can be prevented or slowed with early detection. My general philosophy in medicine is to educate patients so they will be empowered to aid the doctor curing or treating their disease.

Without the patient's complete involvement in this process, even the brightest doctor in the world would be of little use.

With that said, I am eager to work with you as we continuously learn about and fight kidney disease together.
